Smarter Stronger Yarns 4 Life (SSY4L)

Smarter Stronger Yarns 4 Life (SSY4L)

SSY4L is a one day, evidence informed, early suicide prevention program. It was codesigned with and for First Nations and non-Indigenous people. Australian National University’s independent evaluation proves SSY4L significantly increases participants’ willingness, skills and knowledge to have supportive and outcome focused yarns.

Expert Developers and Facilitators

SSY4L was codeveloped by Dr Chris Sarra (2016 NAIDOC Person of the Year), Adjunct Professor John Mendoza (Inaugural Chair of the National Mental Health Commission and former CEO Australian Mental Health Commission) and Marion Wands (CEO ConNetica). Programs were piloted with First Nations Peoples and non-indigenous people prior to release.
SSY4L is endorsed by The Best Practice Centre in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Suicide Prevention.
